Tree specialists branch out as new sponsors of The Shrewsbury Club

The director of an established Shropshire tree surgery company, whose family are all members of The Shrewsbury Club, has branched out by joining the growing number of local businesses to become now club sponsors.

Gavin Rodenhurst, company director of Shrewsbury-based Gavin Tree Specialists, said he was delighted to have strengthened his relationship with The Shrewsbury Club.

Fellow club members will be able to benefit from the sponsorship with the company offering during the month of March 2018 a member only 10% discount off their hard wood logs with free delivery within Shropshire.

Jon Gidney, the marketing manager at The Shrewsbury Club, said: “We’re proud to work with our club sponsors and we are delighted to form an association with Gavin Tree Specialists. It’s a great local business run by a family that are all members of our family-friendly club.”

Gavin, a Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture, loves to have a swim at The Shrewsbury Club following a hard day at work while his wife Kathy regularly attends gym classes with her favourites piloxing, pilates and fight club. 

Both club members for many years, sons Joe and Sam are also members who always look forward to their visits to The Shrewsbury Club, which recently enjoyed a £1.4 million refurbishment programme. Nine-year-old Joe said: "I love the new club facilities, particularly the new soft play, my tennis coaching and the cookies!”   

Gavin Tree Specialists is one of a select group of companies approved by the Arboricultural Association. They cover all aspects of tree surgery, including hedge reductions, large tree removal, stump removal and also provide high quality hard wood logs. Gavin, who has worked globally as far afield as America and Australia, has represented Great Britain in the World Tree Climbing Championships. He has also competed in the British team in several European climbing competitions.
