If you were to walk around our gym and ask people why they are there, many will naturally say that they want to keep fit or lose weight. But some may say that they are working on specific areas of their bodies. Our personal trainers hear them all – thighs, hips, upper arms, bums – but one of the most common areas of concern is the stomach.
Making a change
Lots of us are dissatisfied with a lack of tone, loose skin, maybe post pregnancy for women, and even the dreaded ‘muffin top’. But there is a way to change all that. And, as is often the case, change starts with a positive attitude.
Some people do of course go down the surgery route, such as tummy tucks and liposuction. This can cost a lot and is of course invasive. But if you prefer the natural route, this is the blog for you! The Shrewsbury Club promotes loving your body whatever shape or size you are, but if you want to affect a change through a healthy lifestyle and exercise then again we are here to support and guide you!
Working out
As with most things in life, getting the desired outcome can’t be done without a bit of hard work. There are no miraculous solutions, and - if there were - they wouldn’t be as satisfying as a dedicated workout regime ??
Stomach crunches and the plank are highly effective yet simple exercises you can do at home as well as in the gym, but if you need a bit of additional help targeting your tummy, don’t worry! Our Shrewsbury personal trainers are experts at devising workout routines tailored to specific needs. They will also show you the correct form for your exercises, so there’s far less chance of injury and ensuring you are working out effectively.
Get motivated with a fitness class
For most of us, the idea of sweating out a hundred crunches isn’t appealing, so why not take part in a fitness class instead? Classes are a great choice for those who find it hard to self-motivate and who want an instructional, guided workout with a fun and varied routine.
Our Bums & Tums classes last 45 minutes and are great for all abilities. Using lunges, crunches and everything in between, it’s hard work but it’s a great feeling as you improve week by week!
Tone 2 the Beat is another popular choice. Similar to Zumba, it combines dance with toning and targets different areas of the body week by week. The time flies by when you’re working out to music!
Massage
Getting a toned tummy doesn’t have to be all puffing and panting. A massage is excellent for toning, increasing circulation and aiding in the breakdown of fatty deposits and cellulite.
