Looking for Les Mills fitness classes in Shrewsbury?
Here at The Shrewsbury Club, we’re excited to provide our members with some of the best classes around, courtesy of the worldwide fitness phenomenon that is Les Mills…. We’ve listed some of the main benefits below but - like with any exercise – people also need a sound nutrition plan to enjoy gains in health and fitness. As they say, you can’t out-train a bad diet.
BodyCombat
BodyCombat is a high energy martial arts inspired workout, totally non-contact. The benefits that you can gain from this workout are immense; not only will you be able to burn up to 740 calories in the 55-minute session, you can improve your posture, core strength and stability. Your tone and shape will become more defined, especially in key muscle groups. BodyCombat has also been proven to improve heart and lung functionality and help reduce the risk of heart disease. Hopefully, all of this would motivate even the most un-energetic of people…!
BodyPump
Another Les Mills workout offered at The Shrewsbury Club is BodyPump. This is a total body workout, using scientifically proven moves and techniques to help you get lean, toned and also build up your strength by working all of your major muscles. By doing BodyPump, you will burn up to 590 calories in a 55-minute session. You will see an improvement not just in your strength but your general fitness…. Your muscles will shape and tone in a relatively short space of time and most importantly you will probably feel more confident in yourself.
GRIT Series
GRIT Series is the fiercest series of workouts devised by Les Mills. Each 30-minute class focuses on one of three workouts - Strength, Plyo or Cardio. This is High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) at its best.
A study carried out by researchers at Penn State University showed that after the GRIT Series workouts, individuals’ average oxygen consumption had increased by 6.4% and they saw a decrease in body fat of 2.1%.
HIIT has become a worldwide phenomenon because the proof is in the pudding. By doing the three GRIT workouts regularly, you will build strength, stamina and endurance as well as enjoying a renewed metabolism that is burning fat for hours after your workout. HIIT is scientifically proven to deliver results fast, and we all know that this is a great motivator - to be able to quickly see that what you’re doing is working.
