Club To Reopen on 12th April
Following the Government’s announcement last night, we’re excited and hopeful to reopen The Shrewsbury Club from Monday 12 April. We won’t know this for definite, until the Government provides an update on Monday 5 April, but we certainly have our fingers crossed and we are doing all we can to make sure the Club and the team are ready to welcome you back.
So here are our plans for what will happen over the next few months:
Step One – 29th March:
We can open our outdoor facilities and so the tennis courts will be available, and we will run a programme of classes using the #BASE outdoor area.
A timetable for those classes can be found here.

Cardio Tennis – a great class alternative: For those of you who are really keen to get started with some exercise and would like to try something different to the above classes, we would highly recommend our Cardio Tennis classes. These will be running on Tuesday at 1.00pm & Thursday at 5.00pm. They are a combination of cardiovascular activity and tennis-based games and bring a bit of fun to your weekly exercise schedule. Please contact Simon Haddleton to book a space either by text (07748 654521) or e-mail ([email protected]).
Outdoor Tennis Courts Open: Our 4 outdoor tennis courts will be available for members to book free of charge. The courts can be reserved by contacting our Director of Tennis, Simon Haddleton either by text (07748 654521) or e-mail ([email protected]). The courts will be available each day 9.00am - 7.00pm and are available to book on the hour. Booking is now open.
Tennis Coaching sessions: Due to the limited number of courts our tennis coaches will each be working a reduced number of days until the club opens on 12th April. Please contact them directly for individual lessons availability and they will do their best to fit you in, We know that they are very much looking forward to seeing everyone again!! Our Saturday morning sessions will start from Saturday 3rd April and Simon Haddleton will be in contact with those involves with this programme shortly to confirm your session time, there may have to be a few changes until the club fully opens.
Junior Activity: We realise that the two weeks we are open coincide with the school Easter holidays and so we are going to offer a junior activity Tennis Factory session at 10am and 6pm every weekday. These sessions will involve basic skills and games involving tennis. Equipment will be provided and they will be a fun, interactive exercise activity and children do not need to have any tennis knowledge or skills to take part and enjoy the session. To book your child on one of the tennis factory sessions please contact our Director of Tennis, Simon Haddleton either by text (07748 654521) or e-mail ([email protected]).
