Bubble Football Tournament at The Shrewsbury Club
This May sees The Shrewsbury Club playing host to the European Championship Bubble Football Tournament 2016.
It promises to be a great charity event in partnership with Shrewsbury Town in the Community, Hope House Children’s Hospice and West Midlands Bubble Football… an energetic, competitive day. If you’ve never tried bubble football, it’s superb fun and we’d encourage you to have a go at the tournament by contacting West Midlands Bubble Football, or of course you can just come and watch.
The tournament details
The tournament is taking place right here at The Shrewsbury Club on Saturday 21st May. West Midlands Bubble Football are providing their own staff and bubbles for the event. The first tournament will kick off at 10.30am and the second at 2.30pm. Each team will play at least three matches overall. Teams must have five players and each member has to be over 16 years old to enter. This is for men and women. The entry price is £15 per person.
Complementary access to The Shrewsbury Club
Each player who signs up for the tournament will receive four complimentary guest passes to The Shrewsbury Club, so they can enjoy their facilities on the day or within seven days of 21st May. A full menu of food and drinks will be available on the day.
Ed Ryder from West Midlands Bubble Football, said: “What a great way to combine the excitement of this summer’s Euro 2016, the unique thrill of playing the beautiful game in our bubbles along with all the money raised going to these two fantastic charities! With The Shrewsbury Club allowing complimentary access to their club for all players and selected guests, along with the tournament itself, an amazing day is in store for sure.”
Try something new and raise money for charity
The Shrewsbury Club is delighted to be helping promote Shrewsbury Town in the Community and Hope House Children’s Hospice and all of the money raised will be split equally between the two charities.
Shrewsbury Town in the Community’s education and inclusion manager, Jade Hibbert, said: “We hope to see as many teams as possible at this event as the money raised will go towards two great charities. Bubble football is an emerging sport and we are delighted to be able to carry on using the vehicle of sport to engage within the Shropshire community.”
Lynsey Kilvert, a fundraiser for Hope House Children's Hospice, said: “The tournament looks set to be a fantastic day and a lot of fun for everyone that takes part. A great opportunity to try out something new whilst raising monies for two great charities.”
